Allergies
What precautions do you take to prevent cross-contamination and support the allergen/lifestyle certifications on your labels and packaging?
Our manufacturing facility participates in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Allergen Control Management Programs, and has Safe Quality Food certifications (SQF Level II). Our products are certified Gluten-Free by GFCO and we test our lines frequently to maintain that certification.
What allergens are your products free from?
Our Products are certified Vegan, Gluten Free, Kosher, and Non-GMO. Our products are made in a facility that is dedicated free from milk, eggs, soy, peanuts, fish, shellfish, wheat and gluten. DISCLAIMER: Our products are manufactured on equipment that processes sesame, and nuts besides peanuts.
Are your products tree nut free?
Yes, all of our products are free of the top 9 allergens, which includes tree nuts. Our products are made in a facility that is dedicated peanut and soy free. However, the facility does use treenuts and sesame. There are rigorous cleaning protocols and testing to make sure there is no chance of contamination when our products are being made.
Sustainability
What makes your packaging compostable?
Our packaging is made from compostable bioplastic. Usually, these bioplastics are made from sugarcane or corn starch and are meant to be broken down at a composting facility. Are your products Non-GMO?

Is your palm oil sustainable?
Rest assured, our palm oil is RSPO certified. “Sustainable palm oil is good for the planet, for people and for protected species.” - RSPO Organization
Is your shipping material recyclable?
Our cakes and cupcakes come in plastic containers which are 100% compostable! The cardboard shipping box is recyclable and the styrofoam insulator we have is not recyclable.

What is the shelf life of your products?
Our cakes and cupcakes are best stored frozen and should last six months to a year in a standard freezer. Our product can be stored in the refrigerator, but that is not ideal as any cake will dry out in the fridge.
What's the ideal temperature to enjoy Lorraine’s Cakes products?
Our products are best enjoyed at room temperature.
What is the optimal storage temperature?
The best way to store Lorraine’s products is to keep them frozen until you want to enjoy them. Let them thaw for 1-2 hours depending upon the size of the product.
Is your packaging freezer safe? Can I put it in the oven?
You can put our packaging directly in the freezer. However, it's not safe for the microwave or oven.
Ordering Online
What do you use to keep cakes frozen during shipping?
Dry Ice! We ship all of our orders with dry ice to maintain the optimal temperature during transit. Dry ice can be harmful if not handled carefully. Here are some instructions on how to best handle and dispose of dry ice.
Can I get your products shipped to me?
We ship frozen food to the 48 contiguous US states; we do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico.
How long will it take for my online order to be delivered?
We ship using FedEx Home Delivery, which delivers Monday-Saturday. On average, shipping time takes 1-3 days. We do not ship frozen orders over the weekend. Therefore, the arrival of your order depends on its destination and order placement day. We ship from Monday to Thursday. If shipping your order after a Wednesday would require weekend storage at a shipping company, we hold it until the next Monday. Orders are created (daily order processing cutoff time is 12pm EST/11am CST)
Do you offer custom orders?
We do not do custom orders, but we would love to be part of your celebration! Feel free to check out our store locator or make a purchase online! Shipping takes 1-3 days depending on your location!
What do I do if I need a return or refund?
We do not accept returns, but we do issue refunds if the product was damaged in shipping, or during the packing process. We ask you to provide a photo of the damaged product to support@lorrainescakes.com within five (5) days of delivery. After this we would be happy to provide you a refund or we can send you a replacement.
